A product cannot be “HIPAA certified” — no such certificate exists. What a vendor can do is implement the Security Rule safeguards, sign a business associate agreement, and be plain about where the line sits. Here is exactly where Doctor’s Note stands today.
BUILT AND RUNNING
- — Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest on managed infrastructure.
- — Individual accounts with per-user access rules; a clinician can only read their own notes.
- — Minimum necessary by design: the note engine receives the dictation, not your chart.
- — No training on your data, ever. Prompts and notes are not used to improve models.
- — Automatic de-identification of the 18 Safe Harbor identifier classes in the public demo.
- — Demo transcripts are never stored, never logged, and never leave the request.
- — Audit log: every note created, opened, edited, exported, or deleted is recorded server-side with a timestamp and a one-way device fingerprint. Entries cannot be edited or removed from inside the app.
